Impact Report

Charity

At The Mad Patcher, we are incredibly devoted to giving back to the people, cultures, and landscapes that contribute to our work. We donate 25% of gross profit from each garment to charitable organizations to protect threatened landscapes and cultures that inspire us and make many of the recycled materials that we later get our hands on. This year, with the opening of our store space, we raised $1,702.32 for the many worthy causes we support,  nearly doubling the total monetary contributions we've made to these charities since The Mad Patcher started. To date we've raised $3502.71 for organizations like The Coral Reef Alliance, The Trevor Project, The Sierra Club, and so many more!

Sustainability

A key part of The Mad Patcher mission is to keep clothes and fabrics out of landfills by making use of them for our own production and otherwise finding them a new home via donating the textiles we sort through to a long list of small businesses who can make use of the textiles we can't. Through our dedicated work, we've diverted over 600 pounds of textiles from going to waste and have custom repaired an abundance of our customers favorite garments to extend their closet life for years to follow!

Education

Part of The Mad Patcher Mission is to educate and empower the community to help limit their own textile waste at home. We've hosted many group workshops and private sewing lessons to equip people with the basic sewing skills necessary to make basic clothing repairs and alterations at home, and to make materials and equipment accessible to people passionate to learn more about sewing and textile arts.
