Elkhart Lake’s Historic Train Depot and Museum is the new home of The Mad Patcher. We are a small business with a devoted focus on creating a greener tomorrow for the fashion industry and we recently had our grand opening of the new space on Memorial Day weekend. We are putting out new handmade clothes and exciting events every week, and the new store-space is filled with one of a kind clothing, home-goods, and so much more; All handmade from recycled materials.

Our new store space allows for a heightened custom orders experience. Offering a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, providing drinks and sometimes even fresh baked goods, to customers as they discuss their needs. Also providing as clear of insights into the world of Slow Fashion and how to limit your own textile waste as we can. All taking place in the Historic Elkhart Lake Depot Ticket Office, where the Station Master and Ticket Clerk ran the Elkhart Lake Train Depot in the early 1900s. Built in 1897 and preserved in it's original state by the Elkhart Lake Historical Society, our new space is sure to take you on a journey back in time during your design consultation.

For those interested in even more hands-on experiences, The Mad Patcher will be hosting weekly workshops this summer run by local artists dedicated to fostering community through art. Including beginner to expert sewing, crochet, painting, and even Wisconsin Lake-Fish Printing. The summer is packed with exciting events to let your creativity run wild.

The store will be open Wednesdays through Fridays 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Mad Patcher is dedicated to helping the community limit their textile waste, by equipping them with the materials and knowledge necessary to help them reduce what they send to landfills. As well as, giving back to the peoples, cultures and landscapes that contribute to our work. Come show your support and help us create a greener tomorrow for the fashion industry
